Storage for your metal is provided by Cardiff Safe Deposit, a trading name of our sister company Maxx Securities Ltd. High-security, fully insured storage with 24/7 surveillance, on-site security, and biometric access.
Which option is right for you?
Every Cardiff Gold purchase comes with free storage at Cardiff Safe Deposit. If you'd like your own private, keyed box for other valuables too, Cardiff Safe Deposit offers that separately.
Free Allocated Storage
Buy from Cardiff Gold and your order is eligible for free, secure storage with Cardiff Safe Deposit. Your storage agreement is with Maxx Securities Ltd and the usual ID checks apply. The length of your free term depends on your order value.
Private Safe Deposit Boxes
Rent your own keyed box from Cardiff Safe Deposit for gold, documents, or other valuables, separate from your Cardiff Gold purchases. Available in five sizes, with no appointment needed to access it.
Free storage with every purchase
When you buy from us and choose storage, your order is held securely by Cardiff Safe Deposit and accessed on your behalf by a member of their staff. Your free term is based on your invoice total.

Once your free term ends, storage is invoiced by Maxx Securities Ltd (Cardiff Safe Deposit). Fees are based on your account's insurance valuation, charged annually, and include insurance and VAT. Please note: free storage does not apply to copper products.
Setting up your own box
Private boxes are a separate, in-person service from Cardiff Safe Deposit. Here's what's involved.
Apply in-store
Complete an application in person with two forms of valid ID. Takes around an hour.
Pay your key deposit
A £100 refundable deposit is paid when your keys are issued, returned in full when you close your account and return the keys.

Insurance
New Cardiff Safe Deposit box holders receive complimentary insurance up to £10,000 for their first year. After that, Cardiff Safe Deposit works exclusively with its insurance partner, NOBLE Security Box Insurance, and can help arrange comprehensive cover for your valuables.

You never have to disclose the contents of your box when renting it. In the unlikely event of a claim, you'd only need to disclose the items relevant to that claim.
Who provides the storage
All storage and safe deposit services described on this page are provided by Maxx Securities Ltd, trading as Cardiff Safe Deposit and Swansea Safe Deposit. They are not provided by Aegis Vaults Ltd (Cardiff Gold).
Maxx Securities Ltd is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority under the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 for safe custody services (FRN 689289). It is not authorised or regulated by the FCA for any other purpose, and its services are not covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
